Brazil is to eliminate a fine that employers must pay for what are considered unjustified dismissals, a law approved by the national government Dec. 13 said.
The law (No. 13,932, Portuguese) contains a provision removing a fine for dismissals without just cause of 10% of the contributions made on behalf of the employee to Brazil’s severance pay fund, FGTS, effective Jan. 1, 2020.
