Heads up the next time you want to warm up your car before you get going in the morning – it could land you a $250 fine.
New Jersey has a law on the books that says you can only idle your car for 15 minutes, but only if it's been parked for three hours and only if it's under 25 degrees.

If your ride hasn't been stopped for three hours, you only get three minutes.
The rule even applies in your own driveway.
The first offense is $250, the second offense will earn you a $500 fine, and for the third and any subsequent offenses -- $1,000 each.
