A clerk at Ry's Mart and Citgo located at 2394 East Main St. sold an e-liquid product to a minor during an inspection on Aug. 30, FDA documents said.
The store, owned by AA MM, LLC, had been previously fined in 2017 after inspections in that year revealed that a clerk sold cigarettes to a minor and failed to verify the individuals identification, which are two separate violations, and had open packs of cigarettes indicating the store was selling the items individually, also a violation of federal tobacco laws, documents said.
As a result of racking up further violations following the settlement, the store was fined $5,705 by the FDA in November. The owners of the store will have 30 days to request a hearing on the fine.
